Blog Du Jour: Hello Splendor

Happy Monday lovelies!  This week's Blog Du Jour is one I'm sure you all love and know... Yes, it's Beth from Hello Splendor!  I've been enjoying Beth's blog for the past few months and especially love how open she is with her readers.  Not to mention is seems like she's great friends with all of the bloggers I love!  I'm really not sure how she gets everything done each day considering she's an avid blogger, interior designer, mommy, wife, esty shop owner, and mastermind behind the Blog Crawl (let me know if I've forgotten one of the many "hats" you wear, Beth!).  Please enjoy getting to know Beth a little better and if you like, please feel free to leave a comment or become a follower :)  Also, be sure to enter my very first giveaway!

Who: Beth Dotolo
What:  Hello, Splendor
Where: Dallas, TX

What made you start blogging?

I was encouraged to blog to promote my interior design business. I hesitantly fit it into my schedule and it quickly became one of my favorite outlets! After having my son, I had been blogging for work for months, I realized that I wanted something just for me. So, I began Hello, Splendor. It has been a great way to share a piece of myself and to meet some amazing people from all over the world. I love my little blogging community!

How did you come across the name of your blog?

I brainstormed about this for quite sometime... I tried to be quirky and clever, but nothing ever stuck. I decided to keep it simple and get to the roots of what I wanted my blog to be about, which was splendid modern living that was attainable and completely lacking in pretentiousness. It kinda just came to me and stuck! Hello, Splendor.

If you could trade places with one person for a day, who would it be?

I really love my life, but am ready for a little R&R. So, it would have to be my friend, Lauren (aka Aspiring Kennedy). Her husband recently got accepted to Oxford and she has moved to England for the next couple of years. Her 'job' is to take a bunch of college kids around Europe. So, she's basically living the life of her dreams with the love of her life. The only deal breaker is that my husband would need to trade places her hubby, who I call T-bone, for the deal to work. Sorry, T-bone.

What is the last thing you ate?

A banana nut muffin and coffee while reading up on my blogs... Breakfast of champions.

What is something most people don't know about you?

Well, my life is pretty much an open book and I have a habit of sharing way too much, so a little known fact is a little hard to come by... But, here goes... I once had sushi with Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. He bought me and my friends lunch and even talked about procreating with me. True story.

**HILARIOUS!  this is why I love Beth...

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Hands down: Ocean City, New Jersey. My Dad owns a home off the boardwalk and I've grown up going there every summer. It's my happy place that's full of memories. The best part is that all of the same mom-and-pop shops are still there and going strong. I got to take my husband and son for the first time this summer and it was so amazing to get to share that piece of me with them.

What 5 people would be in your circle for spin the bottle (even if you're married... think of it like the "list" from friends)?

Yes, I'm married, but I'm not opposed to fantasizing... my list would consist of my husband, Michael Pitt, Edward Cullen (not Robert Pattison!), Alexander Skarsgard, & Chuck Bass

What is your "must have today" (your current obsession)?

I'm been lusting over a pair of Tom Ford Aviators. I plan on making the plunge soon!

What is the Tiny Bit of Sparkle in your life? (person, thing, anything)

It's quite honestly my family. I just love my husband and son more than I could ever express... My tiny bit of sparkle is more like a huge blaring ray of light. I look forward to seeing them and spending time with them everyday. Who wouldn't love that face?

Beth is the perfect person to interview... and I would happily trade places with her for day. She can have my flat in England, and I will get a dose of being a mom... plus designer discounts. Sounds like a deal to me!! :)

Great interview of a great girl!
